CardioVision
Now in Use in Hundreds of Physicians' Offices, Hospitals, Pharmacies, and Wellness Centers Throughout the World
The market for noninvasive technology that can measure arterial stiffness is substantial. Because CardioVision provides additional information - the Arterial Stiffness Index - it is expected to replace many existing blood pressure units in the future. The ankle brachial index test now available as an upgrade was demonstrated as the most cost effective means of screening for peripheral vascular disease at the 34Th Bethesda Conference and published in the June 4, 2003, Journal of the American college of Cardiology. CardioVision easily performs this test using computerized oscillometry.
IMDP has performed over 3,000 tests on physicians and guests at medical trade shows as part of exhibits sponsored by Merck & Co. Merck has selected IMDP's CardioVision for inclusion in its exhibits since 1998.
A study was completed under the direction of Robert A. Vogel, M.D., at the University of Maryland to confirm the ability of CardioVision to measure arterial stiffness. Good correlation with the presence of cardiovascular disease was experienced. His work was presented as a poster presentation at the annual meeting of the American College of Cardiology in Orlando, March, 2001 and can be viewed under our scientific papers.
